Mindfully Active

Imagine waking up feeling refreshed and energized, ready to tackle the day ahead. You step outside into the fresh air, ready to take on the world. But first, you join a group of like-minded individuals who are just as excited to get moving and improve their mental and physical health. This is the vision that I had when I founded Mindfully Active.

As a UKA qualified Run Leader and first aider in Sport and Mental Health, I know firsthand the benefits of physical activity for both the mind and body. I've seen the incredible impact that physcal activities can have on a person's mental well-being, and I want to share that with as many people as possible. That's why Mindfully Active was created, a community-based program that focuses on improving overall health and well-being through physical activity and social events. I am passionate about helping others and committed to the Mindfully Active community. Whether you're an experienced runner, or just looking to be more active, Mindfully Active is a place where you can feel welcome, supported, and encouraged to reach your goals.

15/2/24; Session 1: Warm up mile to Green Park 2 mins x 5, at 70% of 5k pace, 30 sec rec 1 min x 5, 5k pace, 30 sec rec Active recovery, so a gentle plod back to cars will help towards eliminating the build up, as will gentle yoga, walking and foam roller. Session 2: 5k run around Green Park. Session 3: for beginners - Warm up mile to Green Park 5 x 30 sec sprints with 45 sec rec Always remember to stretch after your sessions, this is very important to enable to body to recover well. Come and join us at 10am on Saturday 17th Feb for a chatty active walk while supporting your mental wellbeing. General distance is around 2-3 miles. All welcome, from the youngsters to the elders, no age limit. Meeting at Matalan Car Park, (Magnet Kitchen side) Rose Kiln Lane. You will be having a lovely wooded walk along the old Coley line. 18/2/24; We will be meeting at a later time of 10am at Benyon Court, off the Bath Road. Coming from Berkley Ave turn right onto Bath Rd then the 2nd Benyon Court, free parking. We will then be running into Tilehurst for a 6ish mile hilly run. Any questions? Please ask. Thanks

Each weeks session will be: Pace is around 12-13mm. 5 min warm up walk. 5k run. (Easy chatty pace) nobody will be left behind. 5 minute cool down walk. You should do this 3 x per week.
